More Warframe Art

Lately I've been seeing more magazine-style Warframe fan art. I decided to give it a try myself.

I also made some extra renders with an additional pose.

In My Free Time

I've found that I have made quite a few 3D creations in my free time, despite the fact that I feel like I do nothing all day. Here is some of my recent work!

I found a reddit post where a user found a way to make a nice looking Mokume-gane material. I tried making it myself and found pretty cool results.

I also started playing Warframe again and found myself making fan art rather than playing the game. These were really fun to make. My Saryn piece was actually displayed on the Warframe live stream by the developers!

I've also been testing miscellaneous things like greebling, origami modeling, animating displacement maps, and more.

The latest thing I've been working on is a low-poly wild west scene for the monthly challenge at the low-poly subreddit. I made several models and threw them together to make something similar to mountains and plateaus seen at the Colorado desert.

Creating a 3D Crystal Etching in Blender

A little while ago I decided I wanted to try creating those nifty crystal etches you find in those tourist stores. Turns out its surprisingly easy to make them in Blender. I made a 3D crystal of Suzanne.

I also made a tutorial on how to make it.

I posted the video to /r/blender and the user /u/giesse made a video showing an alternative way to put each bubble on a vertex. His technique seems to be more efficient than mine but it does add a stray bubble in the center of the etching. However, the bubbles are so small that its hard to notice it. I like his way better.
